Step by Step to Crochet a Baby Blanket in Crochet

Welcome to the wonderful world of crochet! In this tutorial, I will guide you through a super easy and rewarding pattern for creating a Tunisian crochet baby blanket. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced crocheter, this project is perfect for you to start today and create a charming piece. Let’s go!

Necessary materials:

Medium weight yarn (wool or cotton, depending on preference)
Tunisian crochet hook (size compatible with the chosen yarn)
Scissors
Tapestry needle to hide loose ends

Step 1: Preparation

Choose your preferred yarn and matching Tunisian crochet hook.
Start by making a slip knot.
Make an even number of chains with the Tunisian crochet hook. The number of chains will determine the width of your blanket. You can adjust it according to your desired size.

Step 2: Tunisian Basic Point

Insert the hook into the second chain stitch from the hook, pick up the yarn and pull through one loop (keep that loop on the hook).
Repeat this process until the end of the row. You will have a loop at each point.

On the next round, do the return: yarn over and pull the yarn through the first loop on the needle, then yarn over again and pull through two loops at a time until there is only one loop left on the needle.

Step 3: Continuation

Continue working the rows following Step 2 until you reach the desired length of your baby blanket.
Be sure to alternate yarn colors as desired to create interesting patterns or stripes.

Step 4: Finishing

When the blanket reaches the desired size, make a last row of basic Tunisian stitch to finish.
To finish, make a chain and cut the thread leaving a generous amount of excess.
Using a tapestry needle, hide the loose ends inside the stitches on the blanket.

Step 5: Appreciate Your Work of Art

Congratulations! You have completed your beautiful Tunisian crochet baby blanket.
Take the opportunity to admire your work and feel proud for creating something so special with your own hands.

Additional Tips:

Don’t worry if you make mistakes at the beginning. Crochet is an art that improves with practice.
Explore different yarn colors and textures to add personality to your blanket.

Don’t be afraid to try new patterns and techniques as you gain confidence in your Tunisian crochet.
Now that you’ve mastered this easy pattern, the possibilities are endless! Keep exploring the world of crochet and sharing your creativity with the world. Have a good time!
